Hoodoplasty

Hoodoplasty

The importance of taking care of sexual organs for an enhanced sex life is an underrated concept in India.

Just like men, women also have excess skin on the clitoris. This extra skin can look uneven and enlarged, leading to problems in sex life.

What is the clitoral Hood?

The “Clitoral Hood” in women means the fold of skin which acts like a flap for the clitoris and glans. The clitoral hood’s size, shape, and color differ for each woman.

Some women have a slightly oversized clitoral hood which can lead to sexual problems. This condition is known as “excess prepuce”. To avoid the difficulties of this excess clitoral hood and also to enjoy the benefits of having a proper clitoral hood, women prefer to reduce it.

What is Hoodoplasty?

Hoodoplasty is a clinical procedure that helps women to get the proper size clitoral hood. This is called by different medical terms like clitoral hood reduction, Hoodectomy, clitoral unhooding, Reduction of the excess prepuce, and clitoridectomy.

This procedure can take around one hour by giving local anesthesia, oral sedation, or by giving general anesthesia to patients.

A small incision is injected into the clitoral hood to remove the excess tissue. The excess skin is removed carefully by not disturbing the clitoris or any of the nerves. Dissolvable tissues are used to close the incisions.
