Laser Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is a plastic surgery procedure performed by a medical expert involving the modification of the labia minora(inner lip) or/and the labia majora(Outer lip). This procedure involves knives, unlike laser treatments.

What makes the vulva owners take the blades, and what is the procedure involved?

Just like the outer body, shapes and sizes have many definitions of perfection. A vast range of qualities qualify as “normal labia,” including the length and look.

What can be wrong with the length and look?

Sometimes the inner flaps are longer than the outer ones, and sometimes vice versa.

Sometimes they are not symmetrical.

Sometimes clitoris is clearly visible.

Just like no two labias are the same, there will be differences in length, color, vulvas, and sometimes thickness. Labiaplasty is a boon to people who have long-hanging labias and also to someone who wants the right-sized labia.

Is this even necessary? Medically?

Cosmetic gynecology is for the look and feel of a woman’s genitals and helps improve overall vaginal health. The procedure is a necessity if your labia gets tucked or sucked inside the vagina during intercourse. This may lead to painful sex and also a tear in the tissue.
Long labia can lead to irritation when one wears underwear, bath suits and even walk or do anything that has a chance to irritate the vulvar skin.

What does the procedure include?

The procedures are performed on both labia minora and labia majora
Labia minora can be addressed with two types of procedures:
Edge resection: Involves trimming the excess Protruding edges of labia just like the way you trim your hair.
Wedge resection: Involves cutting the wedge-shaped skin out of the center and bringing the remaining skin with the help of dissolvable sutures

The procedure of labia majora:

  • Injecting fillers or fat to plump the labia that are not full
  • Cutting the tissues or using liposuction on the labia that are felt long is not in desired shape and size.

Post-surgery Precautions:

  • Say “no” to sexual activity for at least 6 weeks.
  • No workouts for Six Weeks
  • Avoid using tight undergarments and pants.
  • Avoid shower for 2 to 3 days and no baths  in bathtub for at least 4 weeks
  • Women with jobs that have physical strain should refrain from themselves for six weeks, and women with white-collar jobs can resume their work after 2 weeks of the procedure.
